Bungalows built in the traditional Kerala style, using only natural stones, bamboo, coconut leaves, palm leaves, earth and sand are set in the serene beauty of the land, not disturbing its natural magnificence.   Modern but unavoidable necessities like a sparkling bathroom are integrated into the bungalows.  The airy rooms, spacious cots, the plaited cane deck chairs on the porch, all offer the occupant a sense of tranquility. 

Food is served in the speckless dining area and is made up of traditional Kerala style food with emphasis on Ayurvedic diet.  Though strictly vegetarian, fish and meat are served occasionally.

Muziris- Our Location
 

The present day Kodungallur was known  in ancient times as, Mahodayapuram, Shinkli, Muchiri (anglicised to Muziris) and Muyirikkodu. Muchiripattinam was a famous and prosperous sea-port at the mouth of the Periyar river.  Kodungallur was the capital of the Cheraman Perumal until the 7th century AD and boasts of many cultural and traditional values.  Kodungallur is mentioned in the stone writings of Asoka as well and mention is found in the travelogues of both Pliny and Ptolemy under different names.

 
Kodungalluramma

The Kodungallur temple is one of the four Devi temples which Bhargava Raman is said to have installed at the four boundaries of Kerala. believed to have been constructed during the reign of Chera King, Cheran Senkuttuvan.  It is believed that the legend Kannagi settled in Kodungallur after setting fire to the city of Madurai.
 

Mar Thoma Church

Christ's apostle, St Thomas landed in Kodungallur in 52 AD. The St.Thomas Church established by him houses ancient relics and is believed to the first Christian church in India. It is a famous church and very important among the Christians
 

Cheraman Juma Masjid

Built around 629AD by Malik Ibn Dinar in the typical local style of architecture and the bodies of some of the original followers are said to have been buried here. This is said to be the first mosque constructed in India.
